Hinnomaki Red is gooseberry variety whose origins trace back to Finland. Gooseberries are loved for their sweet-tart flavor. Hinnomaki Red is a vigorous cultivar that is upright, making it easier to harvest. It is milder resistant, making it more suitable to easy backyard gardening and organic cultivation commercial growers. Plants are vigorous and upright with few thorns.
The sweet-tart fruit is large, pinkish red and suitable for cooking and processing.
Hinnomaki Red fruits in mid-season. For optimum yields and ease of harvest for backyard gardeners, a simple trellis (or tomato cage) can be used.
